MONTGOMERY-Ala.- In the first round of the CCS Championship tournament,  2nd seeded Huntingdon Volleyball swept the 7th seeded LaGrange Panthers 3-0.

The Hawks came out the gates hot, winning the first set by a score of 25-15. Valldeperas and Eva Ellenburg controlled the front lines of the set for the Hawks, combining for 7 of the Hawks 9 kills in the set.

Huntingdon dominated the second set by a score of 25-9. A 7-1 scoring run from the Hawks to open the set only grew with the Hawks efficient offense, earning 9 kills on 19 attempts. The Hawks took a commanding 17-11 lead, but LaGrange was able to battle back and tie the set up at 20 following a 9-3 scoring run. A kill from Sara Scott pushed the Hawks advantage to 22-20, giving the Hawks enough of a lead to pull out the set.
