Huntingdon welcomes new assistant coaches for 2019-20

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon College athletic department will enter the new school year with several new faces.

Eight assistant coaches in five sports have joined the Hawks' coaching staff since the spring. Football added four new assistant coaches while men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball each added one new assistant coach.

Noah Diebel, Men's Basketball: Diebel joined the men's basketball staff this summer after spending one season as a graduate assistant for three-time NCAA Coach of the Year Tubby Smith at High Point University. Diebel graduated from High Point with a bachelor's degree in 2018 and earned his master's degree in 2019.   

Weston Epperson, Football: Epperson came to Huntingdon this summer after spending the past two seasons as an assistant high school football coach at Trinity Presbyterian School. A Montgomery native, Epperson played football at Samford University before finishing his bachelor's degree at Liberty University.

Brittany Greene, Women's Basketball: Greene joined the women's basketball staff this summer after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her master's degree.  Before Southern Miss, Greene was a four-year player for Shorter University and was a team captain for the Hawks. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in 2017.

Haley Knowles, Women's Soccer: Knowles is a 2019 graduate of Eckerd College and was added to the women's soccer staff this summer. Knowles began her collegiate soccer career at Darton State College before playing her final two seasons for the Tritons. She earned all-conference honors at both schools.

Zach Mallard, Football: Mallard joined the football staff in the spring and will coach defensive backs. Mallard spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Greensboro College. Mallard coached defensive backs and was the scout team coach for the Pride during both seasons. Mallard played collegiately at Hudson Valley Community College and St. John Fisher College, where he earned his bachelor's degree.

Adam Mann, Football: Mann was a four-year player and two-time all-conference selection for the Huntingdon football team and is entering his first season of coaching. A 2019 Huntingdon graduate, Mann was part of three conference championship teams and was a team captain as a senior.

Tyler Robinson, Football: Robinson, a four-year player for the Hawks and a team captain as a senior, returned to his alma mater in the spring after spending the past five seasons in coaching. Robinson began his coaching career as an assistant at Maryville College in 2014 before spending three seasons as a graduate assistant receivers coach at Jacksonville State University, where he earned his master's degree. Robinson coached receivers at Birmingham-Southern in 2018.

Christian Young, Men's Soccer: Young joined the men's soccer staff this summer after beginning his coaching career as a student-assistant at Auburn University-Montgomery. A 2018 AUM graduate, Young was a four-year player and two-year team captain for the Warhawks' soccer team.
