Kettlewell and Madonia Earn USA South Weekly Awards
Montgomery, Alabama – Gage Kettlewell has earned his second Rookie of the Week honor and Brennon Madonia has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after two wins last week.
Madonia is a sophomore faceoff specialist who went 55-for-61 (.902) at the "X", to go along with 33 ground balls, in a 2-0 week for the Hawks. In a 21-5 victory over USA South foe Brevard, Madonia was 25-for-28 on faceoffs while also grabbing 16 ground balls. In a 26-3 victory over Warren Wilson, Madonia was 30-for-33 on faceoffs while also collecting 17 ground balls.
Kettlewell is a freshman midfielder who totaled 14 points on 14 goals with two ground balls in a 2-0 week for the Hawks. In a 21-5 victory over USA South foe Brevard, Kettlewell scored seven goals with two ground balls. In a 26-3 victory over Warren Wilson, Kettlewell again found the back of the net seven times.
