DIII Week Spotlight- Cassidy Campbell

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- Continuing our spotlight series in honor of DIII week is Cassidy Campbell of the women's basketball team.

From Hanceville, Alabama, Campbell epitomizes the versatile lifestyle that a Division III creates. Asides from being the Hawks team captain, Campbell is a resident assistant, Huntingdon Ambassador, an officer in the Black Student Union, an Orientation Leader, and a Student Recruiter, and that's not all. Through this involvement and her athletic experience, Cassidy has maintained a solid 3.95 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science on the pre-PT track.

Cassidy's involvement within campus life stems from her initial reason for coming to Huntingdon, sharing that she "was most pleased with the family atmosphere of Huntingdon. My tour of the college is what sold me. Everything about that day just felt right, and I knew I was making the right decision by coming to Huntingdon. I was exactly where I was supposed to be."

This season for the Hawks, Cassidy was named to the CCS All-Sportsmanship team while averaging 4 points and 3 rebounds a game with a season average of 90% from the free throw line.

Reflecting upon her time at Huntingdon, Cassidy has garned a significant amount of knowledge through experience, stating that if she could go back in time and give her younger self any advice that it would be "I would tell myself to live in the moment a little bit more. I spent so much time preparing myself for the future that I sometimes forgot to enjoy being in the moment."

While Cassidy and the Hawks 2024 season has been completed, stay tuned for updates on their upcoming 2025 season coming soon.
