Hawks Drop Matches At Truett McConnell University Tournament

CLEVELAND,Ga.- In their first tournament of the season, Huntingdon beach volleyball fell in each of their two matches, losing to Truett McConnell University and Emmanuel University.

 

Match One vs Truett McConnell- The Hawks fell 3-2 with the pairing matches below:

 

  1. #27 Veronica Tikhomirova and #21 Izzy Valldeperas defeated #10 Emma Bolen and #8 Leah Bowen for TMU 22-20 and 22-19

  2. #11 Ariel Helmick and #12 Ashlen Janowski defeated #2 Denni Valmus and #7 Jordan Roberts 21-14 in both sets

  3. #13 Bea Lindquist and #31 Caroline Foote fell to #3 Kaylin McCann and #14 Madyson Dunn in three sets, losing the first 21-19, winning the second 21-17, and losing the third 15-8

  4. #10 Lydia Hitchcock and #18 Lindsey Holland fell to #1 Camille Godfrey and #16 Katie Williamson 21-14 and 21-17

  5. #19 Molly Wilson and #17 Carryne Chancey fell to #4 Elizabeth Franklin and #6 Kaleign McFarland in three sets, winning the first 21-18, losing the second 21-14, and losing the third 15-2

  6. (exhibition)#8 Hannah Rutherford and #4 Bailey Tyler lost to #5 Madison Perez and #12 Macy Boggs in the first set 21-19, and #2 Gracie Wallace and #20 Destin Roberts fell in the second set 21-5

 

Match two vs Emmanuel  The Hawks fell 3-2 with the pairing matches below:

  1. #27 Veronica Tikhomirova and #21 Izzy Valldeperas fell to #13 Alaina Emminger and #3 Izabela Zukoska 23-21 and 21-18

  2. #11 Ariel Helmick and #12 Ashlen Janowski defeated #11 Ellie Jackson and #8 Ella Johns 21-16 and 21-19

  3. #13 Bea Lindquist and #31 Caroline Foote fell to #2 Layla Bland and #7 Lauren Pace in three sets, winning the first 21-16, and losing the second and third 21-10 and 15-14

  4. #10 Lydia Hitchcock and #18 Lindsey Holland defeated #15 Rachel McGlammery and #1 Hannah Farrar 23-21 and 22-20

  5. #4 Bailey Tyler and #19 Molly Wilson fell to #20 Bri Bigelow and #6 Aaliyah LadenDahn 21-18 and 21-10

  6. (exhibition)#2 Gracie Wallace and #8 Hannah Rutherford fell to #18 Abbye Carver and #10 Alandra Rios in the first set 21-19, and #20 Destin Roberts and #17 Carryne Chancey won the second set 21-13. 

 

The Hawks look forward to February 13th where they take on the LaGrange Panthers at home. Matches are set to begin at 4:30 PM CT.
