Hawks Take Down Nicholls State In First Victory Of 2025 Season

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- In the second day of their annual "Beach Bash" tournament to open the season, Huntingdon Beach Volleyball squared off with the NCAA Division I Nicholls State Colonels.

The Hawks rebounded from their 4-1 loss yesterday with an emphatic 4-1 victory of their own against their Division I opponents today. See below for the comprehensive results of the match.

• Veronica Tikhomirova and Ariel Helmick defeated Rubee Anderson and Jordan Gamble 21-13 and 21-16
• Izzy Valldeperas and Ashlen Janowski defeated Halley Mason and Olivia Lunt 21-14 and 21-16
• Eva Ellenburg and Jessi Hilyer defeated Quincy Cummard and Claire Reed 21-7 and 21-13
• Lily VanDyke and Jenna Dupee were defeated by Tierny Terrell and Adoi Prine 21-14 and 21-12
• Without a fifth pair, Nicholls State was forced to forfeit the match

The Hawks finalize the Beach Bash tomorrow, February 22nd against ETBU and Truett-McConnell. Matches are set for 8:00 AM CT and 4:00 PM CT.
