Beach Volleyball Takes Down Southern Virginia
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- For the third time in two days, Huntingdon Beach Volleyball took to the Alice Reynolds Beach Volleyball Courts against the Knights of Southern Virginia.
The Hawks moved to 3-0 against the Knights on the season and 9-8 overall, claiming a 4-1 victory. See below for the flight-by-flight breakdown of today's match.
Huntingdon-4, Southern Virginia- 1
- Veronica Tikhomirova and Ariel Helmick were defeated by Kami Milius and Claire Grasteit in three sets, falling in the first 21-17, recovering for a 21-14 second set win, but falling in the third 15-7
- Izzy Valldeperas and Ashlen Janowski defeated Emily Peterson and Mikki Prows 21-11 and 21-15
- Eva Ellenburg and Jessi Hilyer defeated Baylee Savage and Callie Tuckfield in three sets, dropping the first 22-20 before winning the next two 21-18 and 15-12
- Carryne Chancey and Morgan Suggs defeated Gabi Green and London Skea 21-16 and 21-15
- Lydia Hitchcock and Lily VanDyke defeated Charity Elam and Bryn Keeling in three sets, taking the first 21-13, losing the second 21-19, but recovering for a 15-11 third set victory
The Hawks return to action on March 18th, hosting the University of Mobile and LaGrange College. Matches are set for 12:30 and 5:00 PM CT.
