Hawks Dominate Piedmont in Game 2

Demorest, Ga.-Huntingdon Baseball defeated Piedmont, 19-0 in a 7-inning run-rule.

Colin Whibbs started the Hawks' offense with an RBI single in the first inning. Noah Phillips' sacrifice fly made it 2-0 followed by Cullen Stafford reaching on an error and scoring a run to make it 3-0. Hall Billings walked with the bases loaded to bring in the 4th run. 

In the 4th inning, Daniel Phillips had a 2-run homerun, extending the lead to 6-0. Hall Billings had an RBI single in the 5th inning to make it 7-0. Colton Clark's 2-RBI double gave the Hawks a 9-0 lead followed by Colin Whibbs' 2-RBI single to make it 11-0. Whibbs scored on a wild pitch and error, making it 12-0. 

In the 6th inning, Andrew Knight had a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 13-0. Colton Clark's RBI single made it 14-0. Cade Morgan had an RBI single in the 7th inning followed by a sacrifice fly by Hall Billings, giving the Hawks a 16-0 lead. A wild pitch scored another run for the Hawks and Colton Clark's RBI single made it 18-0. Ryan Sparks' RBI single secured the 19-0 win.

Eddie Patterson earned the win, pitching a complete game and allowing no runs on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts. Daniel Phillips was 3-6 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, including a 2-run homerun. Andrew Knight was 3-5 with 3 runs and 1 RBI. Colton Clark was 3-5 with 2 runs and 4 RBI. Colin Whibbs was 2-5 with 3 runs and 3 RBI. Cullen Stafford was 3-5 with 2 runs.

The final game of the series against Piedmont is tomorrow, April 24th. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM CST.
