ATLANTA,Ga.- In their second matchup of the season, Huntingdon baseball (6-5 overall) was taken down by the Eagles of Emory University(9-6 overall) 12-2 in seven innings.

 

Highlights

  • After three scoreless innings, the Hawks took a 1-0 lead with a single from Byron McClain bringing home Matthew Robinson in the top of the fourth

  • Emory responded in the bottom of the fourth with a 5 run frame to hold a commanding lead 5-1

  • Still piling it on, the Eagles scored two more runs to extend their lead to 7-1 going into the 7th inning

  • Still battling, a Noah Phillips single brought home Christian Lasecki to cut the lead to 7-2

  • To ice the game away, Emory scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th, walking away with a 12-2 victory over the Hawks

 

On the Mound

  • Freshman JB Landrum drew the start for Huntingdon, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts

  • Jable Ramey relieved Landrum, allowing 2 runs on three hits with two strikeouts

  • Next on the mound was Gavin Gomez, who struck out one batter and did not allow any hits or runs

  • Will Argo subbed in for Gomez, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits with 1 strikeout

  • Waylon Farr took the mound after Argo, allowing 1 run on two hits

  • Caleb Griffis closed the game for Huntingdon, walking one batter and not allowing any hits or runs

 

The Hawks return to action on March 12th with a home double header against MUW. Games are scheduled for 3:00 and 6:00 PM CT.
