Hawks Take Game Two From LaGrange
MONTGOMERY,Ala.- Seeking revenge for their series opening loss, Huntingdon baseball(17-17 overall, 8-9 CCS) came back from a 5-3 deficit to defeat the LaGrange Panthers(21-15 overall, 7-10 CCS) 6-5.
Highlights
- LaGrange opened the game with a RBI single to take a 1-0 advantage
- Huntingdon stormed back with a three run frame to end the first inning, kicked off by a two-RBI single from Matthew Robinson
- Daniel Patton returned the favor to Robinson at the next at bat- striking a double to left field to bring him home and put the Hawks ahead 3-1 entering the second inning
- Two Panther runs in the second inning evened the score at 3 heading into the third inning
- A two-run homer for LaGrange in the fourth inning put the Panthers ahead 5-3
- The Hawks responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with three runs sparked by a RBI single from John Hale
- Mikael Bryant followed Hale with a single, bringing home Davis Johnson to even the score at 5
- Huntingdon regained the lead and took the victory with a double from Dylan Hyder securing a run for John Hale, bringing the final score to 6-5
On the mound
- Jable Ramey started the game for Huntingdon, allowing three runs on five hits through two innings
- Jackson Joiner replaced Ramey in the fifth inning, allowing two runs on five hits in a little over three innings
- Seth Killam closed the game for the Hawks, not giving up any hits or runs to give Huntingdon the victory
The Hawks finalize their series with LaGrange tomorrow at 12:00 for Senior Day.
