Hawks Drop Regular Series Finale Against LaGrange On Senior Day
MONTGOMERY,Ala.- To bring an end to their regular season, Huntingdon baseball(17-18 overall, 8-10 CCS) fell to the Panthers of LaGrange College(22-15 overall, 8-10 CCS) 3-2.
Prior to the start of the game, the Hawks recognized their 2024 senior class for their efforts both on and off the field. The senior class consisted of the following:
- Will Cowan
- Michael Driver
- Gavin Gomez
- John Hale
- Seth Killam
- Christian Lasecki
- Chris McGiboney
- Daniel Patton
- Daniel Phillips
- Noah Phillips
- Jordan Raley
- Matthew Robinson
Highlights
- Similar to the first two games of the series, the Panthers opened the game with a run in the first inning to take a slight advantage early
- After holding the Hawks scoreless to close the first inning, they added a second run in the following inning to extend their lead to 2-0
- Huntingdon evened the score in the third inning with Daniel Patton drilling a single into right field, allowing Cade Morgan and Daniel Phillips to score
- With neither team finding any offensive groove through the next five innings, LaGrange was able to score and take the lead in the top of the ninth inning, and the Hawks could not respond, taking the 3-2 loss.
In the circle
- JB Landrum started on the mound for Huntingdon, allowing two runs on three hits
- Sam Tompkins replaced Landrum, only allowing one hit through 5 innings played
- Seth Killam closed for Huntingdon, allowing one run on two hits
