Hawks come up short against William Peace

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon men's basketball team rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final eight minutes but came up short in an 80-77 loss to William Peace on Saturday.

Trailing 69-59 with 7:15 to play, the Hawks went on a 13-4 run to pull within a point, 73-72 with 2:08 remaining. From there, Huntingdon remained within four points of the Pacers. After falling behind 78-74 in the final minute, the Hawks used a 3-pointer by Jacob Champion to make it 78-77 with 37 seconds on the clock.

But the Hawks could not overtake William Peace. The Pacers added a final basket with 18 seconds remaining and held on for the win.

Damien Madison, Champion and James Harris combined for 51 points. Madison finished with 23 points, five rebounds and three assists, Champion had 16 points and six rebounds and Harris had 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Charvez' Hobson and Mykel Woods each finished with five rebounds.
