Columbus, Miss.-Huntingdon Men's Basketball defeated Mississippi University for Women, 70-67, for the third time this season. The Hawks are now 6-7 overall.
The Hawks were trailing a majority of the game, including a 14-point deficit with 4 minutes left in the first half. Caleb Toney tied the game at 37 1 minute into the second half but fell behind until 2 free throws by Damien Madison tied it at 67 with 2 minutes left in the second half. Another free throw by Madison gave the Hawks a 68-67 lead that they would hold onto for the 70-67 win.
Keondre Davis led the team with 15 points while Justin Johnson had 14 points. Caleb Toney had a team-leading 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Huntingdon was outrebounded 44-30 but were able to capitalize on 22 turnovers by MUW.
The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, January 4th at Emory University. Tip off is set for 4:30 PM CST.
