Max Gardner and BJ Brown Named To CCS First Team All-Conference

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- The Collegiate Conference of the South has announced their 2023-2024 Men's basketball All-Conference selections, which include Max Gardner and BJ Brown on the First Team all-conference and Austin Linville on the all-sportsmanship team.

Max Gardner's selection serves as his second time being named as a CCS all-conference team member, earning Second team honors in the 2022-2023 season. The Decatur, Alabama native had an outstanding season, averaging 15.6 points to go along with 7.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He scored a season high 28 points in a double-digit road victory at Piedmont, where he also collected 8 rebounds. He finished the season ranked 6th in the conference in scoring and 3rd in rebounding.

BJ Brown serves as one of two freshman selected to the first all-conference team. A graduate of Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama, Brown averaged a team high 15.8 points, also leading the team in assists with 6.1 per game, while adding 4 rebounds a game to his season averages. BJ finished 5th in the conference in points per game, 1st in assists per game, and 2nd in steals per game, making his presence known all over the court. Brown's most notable performance is from the January 6th road win against Piedmont, where BJ posted a triple double, scoring 22 points to go along with 10 assists and 11 rebounds.

Named to the all-sportsmanship team, senior Austin Linville played in 9 games for the Hawks, shooting an impressive 44% from three and 45% from the field. His dedication to Huntingdon basketball over the past four seasons is exemplary of work ethic and leadership he provides to this young team.

Max, BJ, Austin, and the Hawks look to keep their season alive tonight, February 20th, on the road at LaGrange for the first round of the CCS tournament. Tip off is set for 6:00 PM CT.
