Hawks To Host CCS Tournament Opening Round Against Piedmont

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has revealed the tournament seedings and bracket for the 2024-25 CCS Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, with the top six teams set to battle for the title from Tuesday, February 25, through Saturday, March 1.

The action begins on Tuesday, February 25, as the higher seeds host the first round at 7 PM local time. No. 3 seed Huntingdon (19-6, 8-4 CCS) will welcome No. 6 seed Piedmont (11-14, 3-9 CCS) in a high-stakes showdown, while No. 4 seed Asbury (8-17, 4-8 CCS), having secured the tiebreaker over Covenant on February 20, will host a rematch with No. 5 seed Covenant (9-15, 4-8 CCS) in another must-win contest.

The winners of these matchups will move on to the semifinals on Friday, February 28, hosted by Maryville College, where the tournament's top seeds await.

Maryville (20-5, 11-1 CCS) and Belhaven (21-4, 11-1 CCS) finished as Regular Season Co-Champions, but Maryville secured the No. 1 seed after edging out Belhaven by one point in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) tiebreaker. The Scots will face the winner of the Asbury-Covenant game, while No. 2 seed Belhaven prepares to take on the victor of the Huntingdon-Piedmont matchup.

The tournament will conclude with the CCS Men's Basketball Championship Game on Saturday, March 1, where the two semifinal winners will battle for the conference title and ultimate bragging rights.
