Huntingdon Set To Battle Emory In The First Round Of The NCAA Tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Announced as part of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball selection show, the Hawks of Huntingdon College will be traveling to Atlanta for a battle with the Emory University Eagles on Friday, March 7th. Tip-off is set for 5:50 PM CT in the Woodruff PE Center Arena.

Prior to the start of Huntingdon and Emory's game, Guilford will take on Berry College for the chance to advance to the second round. The winners of each will square off for the opportunity to advance to third round of the tournament.

The Hawks enter the first round with a 22-6 overall record, earning an automatic qualifying bid to the tournament by clinching the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship this past weekend. Sophomore point guard and CCS tournament MVP BJ Brown leads the Hawks into the first NCAA tournament game in program history, averaging 19.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. He'll be joined by all-CCS selections Martise Jackson, Nate Johns, and Ray'Quan Taylor as the Hawks look to move past the #5 ranked Eagles.

Emory comes into the tournament boasting an overall record of 20-5, bringing 5 top-25 wins with them. The Eagles are led by Jair Knight. The 6'2 guard out of Elyria, Ohio is averaging 19.2 points to go along with 6.7 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
