Huntingdon men’s golf tied for 19th after Rd. 1 of Jekyll Island Inv.

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. –The Huntingdon men's golf team shot 312 in the first round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on Friday.

The Hawks are tied for 19th entering Saturday's second round at Pine Lakes Golf Course. Oglethorpe leads the field at 291, Methodist is second at 292 and Illinois Wesleyan and Transylvania are tied for third at 295.

Methodist's Mike Wesko turned in the low round on Friday with a 2-under-par 70.

Jamey Lester led Huntingdon with a 77. Griffin Just and Tyler Schmutz each shot 78, Rodes Bowers shot 79 and Steven Smith finished with an 83.
