Huntingdon’s Bowers ties for 11th in Jim Bishop Classic

FLORENCE, Ala. – Huntingdon junior Rodes Bowers shot a 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday and finished with a two-round total of 150 to tie for 11th in the Jim Bishop Classic.

As a team, the Hawks shot 301 on Tuesday to shave 30 strokes off their first-round total. Huntingdon's two-round total of 632 was good for 13th in the 15-team field.

Central Alabama Community College and Henderson State tied for first with a two-round total of 600. Henderson State won in a playoff. The University of North Alabama, Wallace State and Lindenwood University tied for third at 605.

Southwestern Oklahoma State's Wouter MyBurgh shot a 4-under 68 on Tuesday and took medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 3-under 141.

Behind Bowers, Jamey Lester shot a 3-over 75 for the Hawks in the second round and finished with a score of 160. Tyler Schmutz finished one stroke ahead of Lester at 159. Griffin Just shot 165 and Steven Smith shot 167. Playing as an individual, David James shot 176.
