Men’s golf finishes seventh in West Cup

BEAUMONT, Calif. – The Huntingdon men's golf team shot 306 on Tuesday in the final round of the West Cup at Tukwet Canyon. The Hawks finished seventh with a three-round total of 931.

Huntingdon shot 307 in the first round and 318 in the second round on Monday.

The University of the Redlands won the tournament with three-round score of 892. The University of La Verne was second at 895 and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was third at 896.

Individually, Redlands' Bobby Holden and La Verne's Alec Spencer tied for first at 214. Redlands' John McCord was third at 217.

Sophomore Garrett Harrison led Huntingdon with a 3-over-par 75 in the final round and tied for 21st in the tournament with a 230. Junior David James finished with a 233.

Freshman Mac Harris shot 4-over 76 on Tuesday and 235 for the tournament, senior Steven Smith turned in a 3-over 75 on Tuesday and a three-round 239 and sophomore Will Thrash shot 242 for the tournament.

Huntingdon hosts the Wynlakes Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
