Huntingdon’s James four strokes off the lead in Emory Spring Invitational

ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. – The Huntingdon men's golf team shot 311 in the opening round of the Emory Spring Invitational on Monday.

Entering Tuesday's final round at Barnsley Garden Resort, the Hawks are tied for seventh. Junior David James led the Hawks in the first round with a 2-over-par 74. James is four strokes off the lead and tied for ninth.

Methodist leads the 13-team tournament at 294, Berry College is second at 296 and Guilford College is third at 301. Guilford's Andrew Thompson turned in the low round on Monday with a 2-under-par 70.

Behind James, freshmen Mac Harris and Alan Anderson each shot 77 for Huntingdon and sophomores Garrett Harrison and Will Thrash each shot 83. Playing as an individual, senior Steven Smith shot 85.
