Three Hawks recognized with release of All-Conference golf team

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Three Huntingdon golfers were recognized with the release of the USA South All-Conference men's golf team on Thursday.

Sophomore Will Thrash was named second-team All-Conference and junior David James and freshman Mac Harris were both named honorable mention. James was also named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team

In 22 rounds since the fall, Thrash is averaging 75.8 per round. He shot 71 in three rounds and turned in his best collegiate round with a 2-under-par 70 in the final round of the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate. Thrash turned in his best finish in the Callaway Collegiate, tying for fifth.

James is averaging 76.2 in 22 rounds during the fall and spring. James matched his collegiate best round with an even-par 71 in the final round of the Golfweek Fall Invitational.

In his first season with the Hawks, Harris has averaged 76.5 in 20 rounds. Like Thrash, Harris shot his best collegiate round with a 2-under 70 in the final round of the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate.

LaGrange senior Cory Howard is the USA South Golfer of the Year and Piedmont's Sam Hill is the Rookie of the Year. Howard is averaging 72.6 in 22 rounds and Hill is averaging 74.3 in 18 rounds. LaGrange's Lee Richter was named Coach of the Year.
