Men's Golf Kicks Off Spring 2025 Season First In CCS Preseason Poll, 11th In The Nation

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The 2025 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men's Golf season is set for an exciting showdown, with Huntingdon aiming to reclaim the title, Piedmont defending its championship, and rising contenders eager to make their mark. In the preseason poll, Huntingdon leads with 36 points and six first-place votes, while reigning champion Piedmont follows closely with 31 points and one first-place vote, as determined by the league's head coaches.

Huntingdon, last season's CCS runner-up, enters the 2025 spring season as the preseason favorite, boasting a national ranking of 11th. The Hawks led the 2024 CCS Championship for two days before finishing second but earned their eighth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, where they surged from 11th place to a tie for sixth nationally. The team also placed four golfers on the PING DIII Region IV All-Region Team. Returning to lead the Hawks is Stephen Baker, last season's CCS individual champion, who secured the title with an even-par final round (72). He will be joined by experienced teammates Tyler Bjorgum, Jack Burr, Cole Humphrey, and Zackery Coker, all of whom contributed to the team's national success.

In addition to finishing as the preseason favorite in the CCS, the Hawks enter the Spring ranked #11 in the country per the last Scoreboard(powered by Clippd) poll. They trail #10 Carnegie-Mellon University by just three points in the poll as they gear up for their first tournament of the season.

Huntingdon travels to the Savannah Invitational, hosted by Berry College, to kick off their season on March 3rd and 4th. They follow up with a trip Pinehurst, North Carolina for the Tiger Invitational on the 8th and 9th before closing the month of March at the Jekyll Island Invitational.

The Hawks open the month of April by hosting the Capitol City Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Country Club in Prattville, Alabama on the 7th and 8th before traveling to Farmingdale, New York, for the FSC Invitational to close out their regular season.

The CCS Championship is set for April 28th, 29th, and 30th at the Dalton Country Club, with the NCAA championships beginning on May 20th at the Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York.
