Men’s lacrosse falls in season opener

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team opened the season with a 20-11 loss to Southwestern on Saturday.            

The Hawks fell behind 7-2 in the first quarter and trailed 13-4 at halftime.

Bryce Coates led the Hawks with three goals and Adrian Harper and Caleb Bohrer each had two goals. Harper also had two assists. Zach Barnhill finished with four assists and Miles Stading had one goal and one assist.

Mac Puller, Raymond Edwards and Cole Foster each scored one goal. Puller also had three caused turnovers. Sam Hitt was 17-for-34 on faceoffs and recorded 10 ground balls.

Goalie Matt Murphy recorded 10 saves and allowed 16 goals in 39:15. Stephen Dan had one save and two goals allowed in 5:45 and Nicholas Mazza had six saves and two goals allowed in 15 minutes.
