Huntingdon pulls away in second half at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La.  – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team took a six-goal lead in the first quarter and continued to pull away in the second half of a 20-5 win over Centenary on Sunday.

Entering this season, Huntingdon had scored 20 or more goals in a game five times in program history. The Hawks have scored 20 goals in each of their first two games this season.

In Sunday's game, Zach Barnhill scored four of Huntingdon's first six goals to give the Hawks a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Leading 8-3 to start the second half, Huntingdon put the game away with six goals in the third quarter and six goals in the fourth quarter.

Barnhill, Seth Howe, Ian Bruggeman, Caleb Bohrer and Brandon Miller combined for 18 goals and nine assists. Barnhill finished with four goals and four assists, Bruggeman had four goals and one assist and Howe scored four goals. Bohrer and Miller each totaled three goals and two assists. Bohrer also had three ground balls.

Paul Gordon added one goal and one assist and Tyler Keiser had one goal. Keiser was 7-for-17 on faceoffs and had four ground balls.

Dylan Langdale had two caused turnovers and five ground balls and Mike Jones had three ground balls.

Goalie Stephen Dan recorded six saves and five goals allowed in 60 minutes.
