Hawks fall to Hendrix in home opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team rallied late but lost to Hendrix College 6-5 on Friday.

Huntingdon fell behind by four goals in the third quarter before scoring three goals in the fourth quarter to pull within a goal in the final minutes.

Trailing 6-2 at the start of the fourth quarter, Seth Howe scored twice in a little more than three minutes to make it a 6-4 game with less than 10 minutes to play. Paul Gordon added Huntingdon's final goal to make it 6-5 with three minutes remaining.

But the Hawks were unable to complete the comeback.

Howe finished with two goals and Caleb Bohrer had two assists. Zach Barnhill added one goal and one assist and Gordon and Brandon Miller each scored one goal.

Tyler Keiser was 6-for 15 on faceoffs and had five ground balls. Raymond Edwards recorded four caused turnovers and six ground balls and Mike Jones had four ground balls.

Goalie Stephen Dan recorded 11 saves and six goals allowed in 60 minutes.
