Huntingdon shuts out JWU-Denver

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-0 win over Johnson & Wales University-Denver on Tuesday night.

Caleb Bohrer scored four of the Hawks' first seven goals as Huntingdon built a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and led 17-0 at halftime.

The shutout is the second in program history for the ninth-year Hawks. The 22 goals scored are the third most scored in a game in program history and the 22-goal margin of victory is the highest in program history.

This was the eighth time in program history the Hawks have scored at least 20 goals in a game and the third time this season.

Bohrer led Huntingdon with five goals on eight shots and had two assists and seven ground balls. Seth Howe scored four goals on seven shots and had two assists. Zach Barnhill had three goals, two assists and four ground balls and Brandon Miller scored three goals.

Brayden Puckett had two goals, an assist, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Puckett was one of nine Hawks to help Huntingdon record 10 caused turnovers.

Brady Moulton had one goal and one assist, was 17-for-20 on faceoffs and picked up 11 ground balls. Jack Henning (3-for-3) and Will Syme (2-for-2) combined to go 5-for-5 on faceoffs.

Paul Gordon had one goal and one assist, Caden Bacz and Ryan Campion each had two assists, Ian Bruggeman, Kole Andres and Gavin McNeill each scored one goal and Dylan Langdale had five ground balls. Bruggeman, Mike Jones and Cole Foster each had three ground balls.

Goalies Stephen Dan, Nick Balducci and Grant Beningfield combined for six saves in the shutout. Dan had three saves in the first half, Balducci had two saves in the third quarter and Beningfield had one save in the fourth quarter.
