Hawks earn first win of the season on Senior Day

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team earned its first win of the season on Friday night during Senior Day.

Huntingdon began to pull away in the second quarter and knocked off Centenary 21-7. It was the ninth 20-goal game for Huntingdon in the history of the 10th-year program.

The game was close in the early stages before the Hawks took control. Leading 5-4 late in the first half, Huntingdon closed the half with three goals in the final four minutes. Huntingdon opened the second half with four goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter to take a 12-4 lead.

During the seven-goal stretch, Ian Bruggeman scored three goals and Paul Gordon, Ryan Campion, Caden Bacz and Brayden Puckett each scored one goal. Huntingdon outscored Centenary 16-3 in the final 34 minutes of the game.

Bruggeman, Gordon, Bacz and Tyler Keiser each scored four goals in the game. Puckett added three goals and Campion and Brady Moulton each scored one goal. Campion and Keiser each had one assist.

Keiser was 9-for-17 on faceoffs and Patrick Gladden was 4-for-9 on faceoffs. Mike Jones had four caused turnovers and four ground balls, Moulton had a team-high five ground balls and Hayden Strickland had four ground balls.

Goalie Stephen Dan recorded 12 saves and seven goals allowed in 60 minutes.
