Hawks Downed by William Peace

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon (6-9 overall, 2-5 USA South) fell on senior day to the Pacers of William Peace (8-6 overall, 4-4 USA South) in today's contest 19-14.

Before today's game the Hawks took time to honor their eight seniors on their accomplishments throughout their four years:

Tarique Ryan, Ryan Campion, Caden Bacz, Kole Andres, Brady Moulton, Jacob Gray, Jacob Payne, and Ian Bruggeman.

The game began with a slow first quarter for the Hawks, they were outscored 6-1 with the lone goal coming from senior Ryan Campion.

Starting goalie, Jesse Thomas only allowed two Pacers goals in the second quarter to help the Hawks get back on track. Offensively, the Hawks began to dominate with five goals, two coming from Gage Kettlewell and Campion scoring his second of the game.

After halftime the Hawks and Pacers teetered back and forth, and the Hawks were finally able to tie the game at nine with a goal from Caden Bacz but a four-goal run for William Peace put them back on top as the Hawks were unable to grab the lead (13-9). Kelcey Marston and Bacz closed out the third quarter each scoring their second goals of the game to push into the fourth only down by two (13-11).

Another six-goal quarter for the Pacers lifted them past Huntingdon as they were only able to add three goals and get within two.

Stat Leaders for Huntingdon:

#12 Gage Kettlewell – 4 Goals, 2 Assists

#32 Ian Bruggeman – 3 Goals

The Hawks final regular season game will be on Saturday at Methodist College at 2:00 PM CT.
