FAYETTEVILLE, NC.- Looking for their first win in six contests, Huntingdon Men's Lacrosse hit the road to take on Methodist University in a pivotal USA South Athletic Conference matchup.
Boosted by 4 unanswered goals in the first quarter, the Monarchs secured a 13-3 victory over the Hawks, as Huntingdon now falls to 2-9 on the season with a 1-5 record in conference play.
How it happened
As previously mentioned, Methodist controlled the pace of the game from the onset, taking a 4-0 lead into the second quarter before extending it to 8-0 with 8 minutes remaining until halftime. Connor Angst momentarily stopped the bleeding with the first of his three goals for the game, but the Hawks still trailed 9-1 going into halftime.
The second half saw much of the same, as the Monarchs built their lead to 13-1 with 6:33 remaining in the quarter. Angst put in two more goals, one in the third quarter and one in the fourth, but the Hawks couldn't muster a comeback, taking the 13-3 loss.
The Hawks look to bounce back at home on April 11th against Greensboro. Gametime is set for 1:00 PM CT.
