Howard’s goal lifts Hawks in overtime

CARY, N.C. – Conner Howard scored on an assist from Mac Puller in the fourth minute of overtime to help the Huntingdon men's soccer team get by William Peace 2-1 on Saturday.

The win was the first conference victory of the season for the Hawks (2-6-1, 1-3 USA South).

Puller scored the Hawks' first goal, less than two minutes into the game. William Peace (4-6-1, 0-5 USA South) tied the game early in the second half.

Brendon Van Emelen took three shots on goal for the Hawks and Puller and Howard each took two shots on goal. Bo Jenkins, Killian Delmore and Chris Hill each took one shot on goal.

Huntingdon keeper Eathan Small finished with five saves and one goal allowed.

Huntingdon plays at Averett (4-8, 3-2 USA South) on Sunday at noon.
