Hawks Take Down Centenary for First Win

Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Men's Soccer defeated Centenary, 4-2. 

Huntingdon took a 1-0 lead at 29:24 with a goal by Thad Lievens, assisted by Tate Reynolds. An unassisted goal by Taylor Bradley at 52:10 gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Centenary added a goal at 73:00 but the Hawks answered back at 77:21 with an unassisted goal by Carlos Melendez. Centenary's 2nd goal of the game shortly after made it 3-2 but Davis Edwards capitalized on a penalty shot at 80:50 to give the Hawks a 4-2 lead. 

Goalkeeper Braden Ross earned the win, making 2 saves on 4 shots. The Hawks collected 11 shots, including 2 from Thad Lievens and Davis Edwards

"It was a good, hard-fought win," Head Coach Matt Cooper said. "I give the guys a ton of credit for staying with it and seeing it out. We have to come out tomorrow and put another good performance together."

The Hawks are back in action at home tomorrow, September 11th, when they take on the University of the Ozarks. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM CST.
