
Track And Field Soars At The Belhaven Invitational
JACKSON, Miss.- Following up on their impressive performance at the Montevallo Falcon Classic last weekend, Huntingdon Track and Field traveled to Jackson, Mississippi to compete in the Belhaven Invitational.
The Hawks top performance of the meet came from former CCS Rookie of the Year, Rory Gilroy. Gilroy's time of 15.34 seconds in the 110m Hurdles placed him second overall. He followed up with a 4th place finish in the 400m Hurdles.
Will Shirley also had an excellent showing, placing inside of the top 10 in the discus, shotput, and the hammer throw, with his third place mark in the shotput guiding the way. Jimmy Woods, Grayson York, and Mackenzy Crawford all also found themselves with top 10 finishes.
As for the women, Mya Farmer led the way with two top 10 finishes. She opened the day with an 8th place finished in the 100m Hurdles before taking 4th in the 400m Hurdles. Former CCS rookie of the week Nariah Travis also continued her success this season, placing 10th in the 200m with a time of 27.60 seconds. Michaela Moore, Kate Smith, Trinity Treadway, and Aleah Vess each also poured in top-10 performances to lead the Hawks on the day.
