HUNTINGDON CROSS COUNTRY OPENS THE SEASON IN SEWANEE INVITATIONAL

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon College men's and women's cross country teams each placed ninth in the Sewanee Invitational on Saturday.

The meet featured teams from Division I, II and III. Mississippi State won both the men's and women's races.

Caitlin McMahon finished 51st to lead the Huntingdon women. Jeff Jenkins placed 70th to lead the Huntingdon men.

"This was a good opening meet for both of our teams," Huntingdon coach Nate Rucker said. "This was a good barometer to show us where we are right now. It's early in the season and we're not going to get too worked up about it, but we do have a lot of work to do."

The Hawks return to action on Sept. 10 in Mobile at the Spring Hill College Badger Brawl.
