COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Huntingdon softball team lost a pair of six-inning games to the Mississippi University for Women on Sunday.
The Lady Hawks fell 9-1 in the first game and 10-2 in Game 2.
In Game 1, junior Kaci Cochran hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game 1-1. MUW answered and pulled away in the final two innings. Lindsey Selph (1-1) took the loss.
In Game 2, Huntingdon took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning when Amari Fleming and Rayne Ellis each scored on an error. MUW regained the lead in the fourth inning and closed out the game. Mallory McCarty (0-1) took the loss for Huntingdon.
