#9 Softball Records Back-to-Back 30 Win Seasons As Hawks Complete Senior Day Sweep Of Agnes Scott

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Following up on their double-header sweep against the Piedmont Lions yesterday, #9 Huntingdon Softball returned to Cannon Field for their second CCS series in as many days, this time squaring off with Agnes Scott College for Senior Day.

Picking up their 29th and 30th victories on the year in their fifth CCS double-header sweep, the Hawks defeated the Scotties 8-0 in each game, allowing just two total base hits on the day.

Prior to the start of game one, Huntingdon recognized their 2025 Senior Class for their dedication to the program, both off and on the field, throughout their time as a Hawk. The four seniors in this years class are team manager Alexis Morris, #4 Sydney Sellers, #6 Miranda Treadway, and #16 Mandy Cannon.

Game One

Miranda Treadway got things going early for the Hawks, sending her 12th home run on the season over the fence to give Huntingdon an early 1-0 lead heading into the second inning. Treadway now sits in a tie with Ellie Jones of Belhaven for the most home runs in the Collegiate Conference of the South this season.

After forcing three consecutive Scottie outs in the top frame of the second inning, Sydney Sellers drilled a RBI double for her first hit of the season, scoring Kate Dinkel as the Huntingdon lead grew to 2-0. Kamryn Miller followed up with an RBI single of her own, bringing Kylie Stephens across home plate before Maddie Grace Hubbard's single returned the favor to Sellers, extending the lead to 4-0. Jordan Holman kept things rolling with an RBI single at the next at-bat, scoring Miller before Treadway's RBI single closed the inning with Huntingdon in front, 6-0.

A scoreless third inning for both teams made way for two Hawk runs in the fourth inning, as Dani Holt blasted one down the middle of the field, bringing home Kinley Hutto and Lauren Watts as the Huntingdon walked away with an 8-0 victory in five innings.

Allie Roberts pitched four innings for the Hawks and surrendered just one base hit as she moved to 17-1 on the season. Freshman McKenzie Little closed the game for the Hawks, not allowing any hits in the final inning. Roberts currently holds the 11th most wins of any pitcher in NCAA DIII with her win today.

Game Two

Just like the first game, the Hawks took a 1-0 lead into the second inning, this time however it was by way of a wild pitch that allowed for Maddie Grace Hubbard to cross home plate easily. Kamryn Miller drilled a sacrifice fly to left field early in the second inning, securing a run for Kate Dinkel as the Huntingdon lead grew to 2-0. Hubbard closed the inning with a RBI single up the middle, bringing in Kylie Stephens and Mandy Cannon as the Hawks remained in control, 4-0.

Miranda Treadway remained hot in game two, smashing a double into left-center field in the third inning, sending Jordan Holman home as the lead was pushed to 5-0. Kylie Stephens returned the favor to Treadway two at-bats later, sending her home on a RBI single, bringing the score to 6-0 before the fourth inning. To close the game in five innings, Jordan Holman drilled her 11th homer of the season over the fence, securing runs for both Hubbard and herself as the Hawks completed the conference sweep, 8-0.

Addison Gaines picked up her sixth win on the season pitching four innings for Huntingdon, allowing just one base hit while pitching 3 strikeouts. Aubree Flanagan closed things for the Hawks with two strikeouts in the fifth inning.

The Hawks welcome #20 Berry College to Cannon Field on Friday, April 18th for their final home game of the regular season. Games are set for 1:00 and 3:00 PM CT.
