MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Junior Pat Pickens recorded her third double-double of the season to spark the Huntingdon women's basketball team in a 72-50 win over Pensacola Christian on Tuesday.
Pickens scored 20 points and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds in the win. She also had three assists and three steals for the Lady Hawks (6-3).
Freshman Mary Englebert added a season-high 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Junior Tan Munford totaled nine points and 14 rebounds, senior Raven Prater had nine points on three 3-pointers and freshman Mackenzie Garmany had nine points, five rebound, three assists and two steals. Senior Jodie Thomas finished with nine rebounds.
After a close first half, Huntingdon took control in the second half. The Lady Hawks led 30-26 at halftime and jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first four minutes of the second half.
Leading 42-32 with 12:54 to go in the game, Huntingdon went on a 22-10 run during the next seven minutes to pull ahead by 22 points.
Huntingdon returns to USA South Athletic Conference action this weekend. Huntingdon hosts Mary Baldwin at 2 p.m. on Saturday and will host Meredith at noon on Sunday.
