Freshmen lead Lady Hawks past Judson

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team stepped out of conference play and rested its starters Thursday night.

Behind the play of its younger players, Huntingdon knocked off Judson 74-63 at Roland Arena.

Freshmen and sophomores combined for 71 of the Lady Hawks' points. Freshman Jai'Lyn Lover led all scorers with 17 points and tied for a game-high eight rebounds.

Freshman Kadaleus Gissendanner added 16 points, freshman Jenna Dorman finished with 14 points and sophomore Brianna Glenn had 10 points. Freshman Nikki Harvey pulled down eight rebounds.

Huntingdon (11-4, 3-3 USA South) returns to action this weekend with a pair of USA South Athletic Conference games. The Lady Hawks host North Carolina Wesleyan (4-7, 2-3 USA South) on Saturday at 2 p.m. and host William Peace (1-10, 1-4 USA South) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
