Lady Hawks pick up conference win at William Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. –Senior Pat Pickens reached another scoring milestone as the Huntingdon women's basketball team defeated William Peace 55-47 on Sunday.

Pickens scored 21 points to move into second place on Huntingdon's NCAA-era career scoring list. With 1,299 career points, she moved ahead of former Lady Hawk Lori Bonds (1,291 points). Tiffany Jordan holds the program record with 1,414 career points.

Pickens also had 17 rebounds against Peace, giving her eight double-doubles in 16 games this season. Tan Munford added 11 points and six rebounds for Huntingdon (8-8, 3-5 USA South) and Mackenzie Garmany had 11 points. Tiara Howton also had six rebounds.

The Lady Hawks led Peace (5-9, 2-6 USA South) for most of the first half and were ahead 28-25 at halftime. The Pacers took the lead early in the second half, but never led by more than six points.

Huntingdon used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to take the momentum and regain the lead. The Lady Hawks extended their lead to 10 points in the final minutes to close out the win.

Huntingdon returns to action on Wednesday at LaGrange at 6:30 p.m.
