Dorman and Garmany power Lady Hawks past Agnes Scott

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Juniors Jenna Dorman and Mackenzie Garmany combined for 40 points to lead the Huntingdon women's basketball team to a 61-51 win over Agnes Scott on Saturday night in the final game of the Lady Hawks Classic.

Huntingdon (2-0) rallied from an early deficit as the Scotties (0-2) jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter. Agnes Scott built a 15 point lead in the second quarter and went into halftime leading 33-23.

Huntingdon (2-0) battled hard in the third quarter and took its first lead of the game, 38-37, with 1:32 left in the quarter when Dorman hit a basket and a free throw. Both teams traded the lead in the fourth quarter until a Garmany 3-pointer with 4:26 left put Huntingdon up 48-45. The Lady Hawks closed the game with a 13-6 run.

Agnes Scott was held to 18 points in the second half.

Dorman led the team with career-high 23 points. Dorman was 7-for-12 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. Garmany finished with 17 points and three assists.

Juliette Harp finished with 13 rebounds, nine points and three blocks. Deven Still recorded seven rebounds.

Huntingdon travels to Pensacola Christian on Tuesday. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
