Huntingdon can’t keep pace in 2nd half at Maryville

MARYVILLE, Tenn.  – The Huntingdon women's basketball team fell behind in the second half and lost to Maryville College 75-53 on Sunday.

Trailing by 10 points at halftime, Huntingdon opened the second half with an 11-3 run to pull within two points, 38-36, with 4:57 left in the third quarter. But from there, the momentum swung toward Maryville.

The Scots closed the third quarter with a 12-4 run to take a 50-40 lead at the end of the third quarter. Maryville continued to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Ry Whetstone led Huntingdon with 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots and Shaonica Thomas had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Wyatt Bak finished with nine points, Alina Shoemake had seven rebounds and five assists and Indya Lawrence had four assists.
