Huntingdon takes control in second half against Covenant

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team took control in the second half and beat Covenant 69-50 on Friday night.

After playing from behind for much of the first half and trailing by as many as 10 points in the first half, the Hawks set the tone in the final two quarters. Huntingdon outscored the Scots 19-6 in the third quarter and 25-15 in the fourth quarter.

Trailing 29-25 at halftime, the Hawks were sparked by 3-point shooting in the second half. After hitting just 1-of-11 3-pointers in the first half, Huntingdon hit 10-of-20 from 3-point range in the second half.

Huntingdon used three 3-pointers from A.B. Davis and two 3-pointers from Wyatt Bak in the third quarter and four 3-pointers from Bak and one 3-pointer from Indya Lawrence in the fourth quarter.

The Hawks led 44-35 at the end of the third quarter and led by double digits for almost the entire fourth quarter.

Bak led Huntingdon with 20 points and five steals and was 6-for-14 from 3-point range. Davis added 15 points and Destiny Cross had a team-high eight rebounds and four assists. Janaiya Mintze finished with six rebounds.
