Hawks Taken Down by Berea

Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Women's Basketball fell to Berea, 84-75. The Hawks are now 7-12 overall and 3-7 in conference.

Huntingdon held a lead through the first quarter, ending the first quarter 21-17. Berea added 29 points in the second quarter to take a 46-40 lead at halftime. The Hawks tied the game at 69 with 4:32 left in the fourth quarter and battled back and forth until Berea took a 73-71 lead with 2:46 left in the fourth quarter. Berea outscored Huntingdon 24-22 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Alina Shoemake led the team with 21 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals. AB Davis had 18 points while Ry Whetstone had 16. Both Davis and Brooklyn Oden each collected 6 rebounds. 

The Hawks were outrebounded 44-33 but totaled 20 points in the paint and 13 points off of 12 Berea turnovers. 

Huntingdon is back in action at home tomorrow, February 6th, when they take on Maryville at 1 PM CST.
