
Davis, McGruder, And Ford Bring Home All-Conference Awards
ATLANTA, Ga.- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its 2024-25 CCS women's basketball all-conference honorees, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Huntingdon women's basketball saw four athletes recognized, with Kinstin Davis and Briana McGruder garnering first team all-conference recognition, Makayla Ford receiving a second team placement, and Cassidy Campbell being named to the all-sportsmanship team.
Kinstin Davis eclipsed the 1,000 point scoring mark for the Hawks this season, leading the team in scoring with an average of 13.4 points per game. The Mobile, Alabama native finished fourth in the conference in scoring, 18th in rebounding, 8th in assists, and 6th in steals per game. Her first team all-conference selection marks the second time receiving the honor in her career.
As for Briana McGruder, she finished 6th in the league in rebounding with 6.4 per game, 15th in scoring with 9.9 points per game, and 6th in blocks with an average of 1 per game. The Decatur, Georgia native also received first team recognition for the second time in her career, following up on her placement from last season.
Makayla Ford rounds out Huntingdon's all-conference selections with a second team bid. Coming off of the bench in every game for the Hawks except for one, she averaged 10.8 points per game, 1.6 steals, an assist, and a rebound. Her second team all-conference selection serves as the first time she's received all-CCS recognition in her career.
Senior Cassidy Campbell was named to the all-sportsmanship team in back-to-back seasons this year. The Hanceville, Alabama native averaged 3.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while hitting on 33% of her three point tries this season.
Davis, McGruder, Ford, and Campbell look to lead the Hawks as they battle Belhaven in the CCS Quarterfinals tonight in Jackson, Mississippi. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM CT.
