Lady Hawks close out Chick-fil-A Invitational

ROME, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot its best round of the fall with a 319 on Tuesday in the final round of the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Coosa Country Club.

The Lady Hawks finished the tournament in ninth with a two-round 647. Twelfth-ranked Oglethorpe won the 16-team tournament with a 611 and Shorter University was second at 613.

Sophomore Debra Ann Burdeshaw led Huntingdon in the final round with a 3-over 75, her second best round of the season. Burdeshaw finished the tournament seven strokes out of first and was 19th with an 11-over 155.                  

Oglethorpe's Sarah Hsu and Spring Hill College's Claire Landry tied for first with a 4-over 148.

Behind Burdeshaw, freshman Emma Cox tied for 29th with a 15-over 159. Senior Madi DeWees shot 165 for the tournament, sophomore Abigail Cody finished with a two-round 168 and freshman Jasmine Paynter shot 178.
