Huntingdon’s Cody tied for 6th after Rd. 1 of Savannah Invitational
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 335 in the opening round of the Savannah Invitational on Monday.
Entering Tuesday's final round, the Hawks are ninth. Top-ranked Carnegie Mellon leads the tournament at 25-over-par 313 and second-ranked Methodist is second at 314.
The 14-team tournament features six nationally ranked teams.
Sophomore Abigail Cody led Huntingdon in the opening round. Cody is five strokes off the lead and tied for sixth with a 6-over 78. Sophomore Debra Ann Burdeshaw is nine stokes out of first and tied for 25th with a 10-over 82.
Freshman Emma Cox shot 87, freshman Jasmine Paynter shot 88 and senior Madi DeWees shot 91.
Oglethorpe's Ana Garcia leads the field with a 1-over 73.
Coming Up: Huntingdon returns to action in the final round of the Savannah Invitational on Tuesday.
