Huntingdon places 2nd in inaugural USA South Tournament

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 331 on Wednesday to place second in the inaugural USA South Athletic Conference Tournament.

Huntingdon finished the tournament with a three-round 977. Second-ranked Methodist won the six-team tournament with a 20-over-par 884. Southern Virginia was third with a 144-over 1008.

All five Huntingdon golfers finished in the top-15. Abigail Cody led Huntingdon in the final round with a 5-over 77 and finished sixth with a 20-over 236. Debra Ann Burdeshaw shot 82 in the final round and finished seventh with a 21-over 237.

Jasmine Paynter shot 84 on Wednesday and finished ninth with a 31-over 247. Anna Beth Harris shot 88 in the final round and finished 13th with a 41-over 257. Lindsey Oxley shot 88 in the final round and tied for 15th with a 47-over 263.      

Methodist's Jillian Drinkard earned medalist honors with a 1-under 215.
