WEST POINT, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team led early but fell behind in the second half on an 11-8 loss to Point University on Friday.
Huntingdon took a 3-1 lead in the first seven minutes of the game before Point (2-0) tied the game 4-4 at halftime. Point built a four-goal lead in the first 16 minutes of the second half.
Junior Jen Price scored three goals in less than seven minutes to help the Lady Hawks (0-4) pull within two goals, 10-8, with 1:45 left in the game. But Point answered with 1:06 to play and held off the comeback.
Price finished with four goals, seven ground balls and four draw controls and Lonnitria Keenan added three goals. Shannen O'Leary scored one goal and had four ground balls and Carolyn Smith had one assist. Candace Williams finished with three caused turnovers and six ground balls and Bree Brake had four ground balls.
Goalie Victoria Krupa had five saves and 11 goals allowed.
Huntingdon hosts Otterbein on Sunday at noon.
