Huntingdon rallies late but falls to Hendrix

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team fell behind in the first half and lost to Hendrix College 10-6 on Sunday.

The Hawks took an early 2-1 lead in the opening minutes of the game before Hendrix answered with six straight goals to take a 7-2 lead with 10:32 left in the first half.

Huntingdon cut Hendrix's lead to three goals three times in the final 35 minutes of the game but the Hawks could not overtake the Warriors.

Vanessa Maldonado had three goals and three ground balls for Huntingdon. Shelby Blair and Keirstin Cramer each had one goal and one assist and Kailey Laudicina scored one goal. Blair also had four draw controls.

Jordan Alvis had four draw controls and Morgan Pelfrey had two caused turnovers.

Goalie Morgan Coppini had 15 saves, allowed 10 goals and had six ground balls in 60 minutes.
