Huntingdon loses conference battle at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C.  – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team fell behind early and couldn't catch Greensboro in a 14-5 loss on Friday.

The Hawks trailed 6-1 at halftime before cutting the Pride's lead to 6-3 early in the second half. But from there, Greensboro pulled away.

Shelby Blair led Huntingdon with two goals and Savannah Ryan, Jordan Alvis and Keirstin Cramer each scored one goal. Cramer also had one assist, Ryan had five caused turnovers and four ground balls and Alvis had two caused turnovers. Emily Moore finished with four caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Goalie Morgan Coppini finished with 15 saves and four ground balls and allowed 14 goals in 60 minutes. With the 15 saves, Coppini has 202 career saves and is just the third Huntingdon goalie to record 200 career saves. Alexis McDonald holds the program record with 344 career saves and Victoria Krupa is second with 206.
