Hawks Fall to Brevard

Montgomery, Alabama – The Hawks (1-3, 0-1) fell to in conference opponent, Brevard 16-6.

Leading scorer, Amara Veng tallied the first goal for the Hawks in thirty seconds (1-0). Brevard quickly answered with a 4-0 run before Mackenzie Wolford scored her first goal of the game (4-2). The Tornados closed out the first quarter with two more goals to increase their lead to four heading to the second (6-2).

 

Brevard came out hot with another four goals before Veng was able to score for the Hawks. After a scored free position shot from Brevard, Wolford closed out the half with a Hawks made goal in the last six seconds for a score of 11-4 heading into halftime.

 

In the second half, starting goalie, Elizabeth Todd only allowed five goals for the Tornados, but the Hawks could only score two of their own as they dropped their first conference game.
